On Tuesday, June 30, Rose Pest Solutions is proud to celebrate the grand opening of The Enchanted Garden at Discovery Center Museum in Rockford, Illinois, a colorful new outdoor learning space designed to inspire curiosity, spark imagination, and help the next generation discover the incredible world of pollinators.
The ribbon cutting begins at 10:00 a.m., and we invite families throughout the Rockford area to come celebrate with us.
Why Would a Pest Control Company Build a Pollinator Garden?
It’s a question we hear from time to time, and one we love answering.
At Rose Pest Solutions, our mission has always been about protecting people, homes, businesses, and the environments where we live. While we’re known for solving pest problems, we’re equally passionate about protecting the insects that make our ecosystems thrive. Pollinators like bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, moths, beetles, and even bats play an essential role in keeping our world blooming and our food supply growing.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, pollinators are responsible for one out of every three bites of food we eat. Without them, more than 35 percent of the world’s food crops and 80 percent of flowering plants would struggle to survive. That’s why we believe one of the most important things we can do is inspire people, especially children, to appreciate and protect these incredible creatures.
Learning Through Exploration
The Enchanted Garden was thoughtfully created to be much more than a beautiful outdoor space. Every feature encourages exploration while helping visitors better understand the important relationship between pollinators and the natural world.
Families will discover native flowering plants selected to provide nectar and pollen throughout the growing season, a vibrant mural that illustrates how bees experience color differently than humans, whimsical fence art, and inviting seating areas where guests can pause and enjoy the sights and sounds of the garden. One of the garden’s most unique features is the Wind Cloud, an artistic installation that creates gentle sounds reminiscent of rain or ocean waves, offering a calming sensory experience for visitors of all ages.
Children may even notice tiny honeybees hidden throughout the mural or recognize that certain flowers were chosen specifically to attract different pollinators. It’s these thoughtful details that make every visit a new adventure.

The Enchanted Garden is the fourth immersive pollinator garden Rose Pest Solutions has proudly developed and donated to the communities we serve. For us, projects like this are a natural extension of who we are. While we’re known for protecting homes and businesses from pests, we’re equally passionate about protecting the beneficial insects that help our environment thrive.
