Need a quick way to get your questions answered? Here are responses to some of our more frequently asked questions. If you need assistance, contact us here or give us a call at 1-800-GOT-PESTS. You’ll be happy you called.

Where is your office located?
Rose Pest Solutions has 9 locations in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Kentucky. We have licensed technicians local to each area we service.
Is your company locally owned?
Rose Pest Solutions Chicago is owned by the Dold family. Their family has been involved in the pest control industry for generations. Robert, Judy, and their son, Robert Dold, Jr. have been involved in every aspect of pest control including memberships to and positions on the board of the Greater Chicago Pest Management Association, the Illinois Pest Control Association, and the National Pest Management Association. They are heavily involved in every area of advancement possible in the pest control industry including supporting the use of major brands who commit to research and development of more efficient and better products. They are involved with federal, state and local legislature in order to ensure that our staff can offer the very best service to our customers with the best products available at the same time as investing in the future of the industry. The Dold family strongly believes in integrity and superior service.
How much is this going to cost me?
Each of our services are priced a little differently depending on the size of your home or business, the type of service, the time and materials being used and the type of pest being treated. Normally, we can give you a very good idea of pricing just by calling in and listening to your description of the situation. For commercial accounts, we would be happy to send out one of Account Managers or licensed technicians to take a look at your facility and give you a verbal or written proposal.
Do you sell anything that I can use to do it myself?
Of course! DIY comes easy with the advice from one of our pros when you stop in to visit us at one of our locations. Keep in mind though, that having the expertise of how to apply those products as well as years of experience learning each pest’s habits is enormously helpful and much more effective. In addition, there are certain products that cannot be sold to the general public. Therefore, while some things can be done yourself, please don’t underestimate the value of a licensed professional.
Do I have to sign a contract?

We believe in providing excellence in service. For residential customers, we provide a service agreement which you will need to agree to and sign. It explains coverage, pricing, and warranties for the custom program suited to your needs.

For commercial customers, we will provide you with a written proposal explaining the full scope of treatment plan details. Service will begin once the proposal is agreed upon and signed. If, for any reason, you feel that we cannot adequately meet your needs, all you do is provide us with a 30 day written notice of intent to cancel. We, of course, will be contacting you just to make sure there is nothing we can do to meet and exceed your expectations, but with the current economy, sometimes things just change and finances are no longer available. We understand and want to help out in any way we can.

How soon can your guy come out?
Rose Pest Solutions strives to ensure that our licensed technicians respond as immediately as necessary. For general pest control issues, we will normally schedule service for the same day or the next day depending on what is convenient for you.
Do you guarantee your work?

We believe in integrity and quality service. We will do our absolute best to make sure that you are happy with the quality and results of your service. Different types of pests are guaranteed differently. When you call us to receive your free estimate, we would be happy to explain the guarantees. Of course, our best guarantee comes with ongoing services. When you have ongoing services, they normally include a 365 day a year guarantee. Specifics about each type of ongoing plan can be explained by any staff member by calling 1-800-GOT-PESTS.

Can you come out and give me an estimate?

For residential customers, we can normally give you an estimate over the phone. If an inspection is required, there is an inspection fee that will be waived if services are rendered. If you have a sample of your pest, we are always willing to take a look at it for you at no charge. Just stop by our office and we’ll tell you what you’re looking at and the best way to handle that specific problem.

How long will the service take?

Rose’s licensed technicians will always want to do a thorough inspection of your property, identify problems and treat, as needed. The first time we service a home for general pest control will take about 45 minutes. The first service always takes longer than follow up or ongoing services. We want to become familiar with the environment and come up with the best plan for your home. Service times also differ depending on the size of the property and the type of pest.

Can I pay with a credit card?

Absolutely. We take Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. You can even request that your credit card number be kept on file and automatically charged after each service.

Will the stuff you use stain my carpet, curtains or wood flooring?

Our licensed technicians will be sure to use products that will not stain your carpet, curtains or wood flooring. There are certain products that leave a white dusty residue. Depending on the areas being treated, our licensed technicians will use different products in order to avoid leaving any residue.

How long do we have to leave our home for the service?

For general pest control services, you do not have to leave at all. There are certain medical situations where we will recommend that the customer leave the area. For instance, we would recommend for customers on oxygen to leave the home long enough to be sure that all “the dust settles” from our visit before reentering the home. There are other services where we do require customers to leave their home. For instance, flea treatments require that all pets and residents leave the home for four to six hours. This allows time for the products we use to settle before anyone reenters the home.

I’m clean… How did I get these? Where are they coming from?

It depends on what you have. General pests are looking for food, water and shelter. They don’t need much to survive, so even the cleanest home can be attractive to pests. Other pests came from that box delivered to your door from Florida, or that piano you bought and had shipped in from Texas, or maybe your new tenant next door. Don’t worry; our licensed technicians will notate anything you can do to prevent the problem on your inspection report.

Can you just fog my house?

We are capable of fogging your home, but it probably isn’t the best method to eradicate what you have. There are high risks involved with fumigants. We offer much safer, cleaner, quicker and more effective ways to solve the problem. However, if you have used any foggers or any other product trying to take care of the problem on your own, please let your licensed technician know. Some products are repellents and some products are attractants. We need to know what has already been used in order to make sure we use the best product for the job.

Can you treat my entire yard?

Rose’s technicians are state licensed for structural pest control. However, several of our technicians are also licensed by the Department of Agriculture, which does allow them to treat your yard or other areas. Just give us a call and we’d be happy to answer any questions you might have. Just remember that a healthy ecosystem does include ants in the yard and spiders in the trees.

What experience or training do your technicians have?

All of our technicians are licensed for structural pest control by the Illinois Department of Public Health, Indiana State Chemist, KY Department of Public Health, etc. Some of our technicians are also licensed by the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection. Additionally, each technician has licenses in certain sub-categories. For instance, some of them have additional specialization for rodent control, food service, termite control, etc. Some technicians have additional licenses that allow them to treat “right-of-ways”, landscaping, etc. All of our technicians take turns attending the Pest Management Conference each year at Purdue University as well as additional trainings available throughout the year. The Department of Public Health requires ongoing training in order to keep their licenses current. In addition, we require all technicians to continuously train and test in order to create a continuously educational environment. In addition to all state licenses, all Rose Pest Control employees have been Quality Pro certified, Quality Pro School certified (provide links), and have passed the EOS Safe Driver Improvement System.

Will treatment work on other pests?

Each of our services is tailored to specific insects or rodents based on scientific knowledge of that pest’s behavior and habits. For example, what works for boxelder bugs may not work for yellow jackets. We focus on the root source or cause of a pest and utilize and utilize Integrated Pest Management practices before applying materials prescribed for that species of pest.

Will treatment harm my pet or child?

Your technician will discuss solutions with you to make sure you are well-informed about the situation. We will discuss all pertinent details with you if the environment is sensitive or if treatment requires preparation or product drying time.

Will treatment make my property smell?

Most of the products we use have little to no scent. Our green products may have a stronger scent due to the concentration of essential oils in the active ingredients.

Will treatment leave any residue?

Our technicians carefully use products that won’t stain your carpet, curtains, or flooring. Some products, such as those used for stinging insects, may leave a slight dusty residue that can be easily rinsed off.

How long do we have to leave for the pest service?

Most our routine preventative work is done outside your home or business. If we address an issue inside, we will inspect and discuss the solution in detail prior to taking any action.

How long will treatment take?

From the initial inspection to treatment, our services can take 45 minutes, depending on the property size. Follow-up maintenance services are usually faster.

How much do your services cost?

The cost of services depends on the size of the property, the type of pest and level of activity, and the solution recommended. Contact us for a free estimate.

Why should I hire a professional?

Spraying store-bought chemicals in and around your home is often inefficient, unsafe, and harmful to the environment. A licensed professional can provide unique insight based on their extensive experience and expertise.

Why do I need your services if my town sprays for bugs?

Some towns have mosquito abatement or rodent abatement programs for public rights of way. These are meant to address issues on a larger scale, but might not be effective on your private property. While we can’t control what’s beyond our yard, we can certainly make a difference on our own property to keep your family, home, and pets safe from pest threats. Our services are personalized to your needs and comfort levels.

Do invasive pests pose a health risk?

Many types of insects and rodents carry germs that spread illnesses. Mosquitoes, mice, and rats are known carriers of parasites and serious diseases. Many of the pests our professionals see on a daily basis are public health threats.

Are traps an excellent alternative to pest control?

Traps can certainly help control populations of flying or biting insects or mice and rats, but the key to elimination is to find the source and root of the problem. Our services attack the problem at its source to yield better results.
