Rose Pest Solutions might be America’s oldest pest solutions company, but we’re also extremely conscious of the environmental sensitivity surrounding pest pressures–particularly when it comes to pollinators. All pollinators play an essential role in the nation’s food supply chain, but we’re going to focus on bees for now.
Everyone has had a bad experience with a bee at least once in their life, but do you remember what kind of bee it was? Did you know there are actually good bees and bad bees? We’ll get into the bad guys in a later post because this post is dedicated to honey bees in honor of National Honey Bee Day!

If you missed it last year, honeybees are one of the most important pollinators when it comes to our food supply because they’re responsible for about 33% of our food. That’s right, the bee responsible for creating a great cough medicine, wound treatment, energy and memory boost, sleep aid, toast topping, baking sweetener and tea additive is also responsible for one-third of our food supply. Want to know more? Here’s what the buzz is about from Hobby Farms:

If you’ve made it this far, you’re clearly as passionate as we are about pollinator health. After partnering with the Kohl Children’s Museum for “Parade of Trees” earlier this year, we worked with them again to create a Pollinator Garden to educate visitors and, in turn, give back to nature. Check out some of the pictures from that event below, and join us in celebrating the honey bee during National Honey Bee Day. And stay tuned to the blog for the upcoming post about good bees versus bad bees!
