Our remedy for spotted lanternfly control
First of all, contact us. The key to controlling a spotted lanternfly population is to focus on prevention as best as you can. So, if you see one, smash it. Prevention timing is everything, too. Before crops are harvested and these pests are displaced, prepare the exterior of your home. Seal as many cracks and holes on the outside as possible, especially on the south and west walls where the sun heats the home during the late summer and fall.

How to Identify a Spotted Lanternfly
The spotted lanternfly is about an inch long and half an inch wide. The forewings are gray with black spots. When flying, it exposes its red and black hind wings. The lanternfly has a black head, black legs, and a yellow abdomen with black bands.
The spotted lanternfly is a planthopper indigenous to parts of China. It has spread invasively to Japan, South Korea, and the United States. Its host plants include grapes, stone fruits, and Malus species, although its preferred host is Ailanthus altissima.
Spotted lanternfly feeds on a wide range of fruit, ornamental and woody trees, with tree-of-heaven being one of the preferred hosts.

“Once the temps dropped in the Fall, the bugs started coming in, Asian lady beetles, stink bugs and boxelder bugs.”
“We purchased our house last summer (2016). We live close to the forest preserves, in a heavy tree village. Once the temps dropped in the Fall, the bugs started coming in, Asian lady beetles, stink bugs and box elder bugs. Then mice found a way in under out sun porch, EEK! Our realtor recommended Rose Pest Solutions to us, and we called to set up an appointment. They quickly sent out our technician, his name is Vance. Vance is the epitome of what every company wants in an employee. His customer service is top notch, he works quietly, effectively and efficiently. He precisely inspected both inside & outside of the house and found every little opening to get into our house from the outside and inspected the inside to find every opening they could get in. I couldn’t be more pleased with the service and I am once again comfortable in my home. Thank you Vance!”
